After graduating from the University of South Carolina with BS in Civil Engineering in 2003, Taylor spent the first few years working for a large building supply company. In 2008, he opened Motley Structural Design, LLC and began offering Structural Engineering and Consulting Services. Over time his experience has increased to include wood truss component engineering, EOR services, specialty engineering services, forensic engineering, steel detailing and connection design. He continues to strive to keep up with the latest in technology and business knowledge to best serve his clients.
Mallory has a B.Sc. in Clinical Psychology from Francis Marion University, but has spent the bulk of his career working in the steel Industry. He originally got his start with Southeastern Steel as a production control specialist. After many years working with fabrication, he shifted to the detailing side and spent 13 years working as a detailer/checker for a large detailing and engineering firm in SC. Mallory started working at Motley Structural Design in 2015. He currently heads up our steel detailing department by providing detailing and checking services as well as mentoring those of us that still have much to learn.
Josh Zawislak - JZ Drafting and Designs
Josh Zawislak is a subconsultant for Motley Structural Design. After graduating from Florence Darlington Technical College in 2001, Josh spent a few years in the civil engineering field before making the switch to wood truss components. He worked for a large building supply company performing many different aspects of wood truss and component design services. Josh primarily serves as the subconsultant drafter/modeler for structural projects.
Knowl Davis, PE
Knowl Davis is a subconsultant for Motley Structural Design. Originally with a degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, Knowl spent a good bit of his career working in the wood truss industry and in commercial construction. He brings a great deal of experience to the table and we lean pretty heavily on him at times to help with either overflow work or consulting together on unique projects.
